Meet Parker L.

About: Parker grew up in Oklahoma and moved to Minnesota with his family so his mother could begin a career in healthcare. Parker said his mother encouraged him to socialize, which led him to be involved in many programs and activities in the area, including ArtAbilities.

The Story Behind His Artwork: Around the age of 10, Parker became interested in dragons while watching television. He wanted to capture what the dragons looked like outside of the screen, so he would trace them on a sheet of paper. Eventually, tracing turned into freehand drawing. Today, Parker enjoys creating the dragons that he envisions. Each art piece has a story behind the design.

“I thought I couldn’t make something original,” said Parker. “Because of PossAbilities, I have been able to go outside of my comfort zone.”

Through the ArtAbilities program, Parker is hoping to spread his love of dragons to others, and in time, his artwork will spark the interest of DreamWorks.

Other Interests: Parker enjoys watching movies and attending County Music concerts. He is also active in the Special Olympics. He plays floor hockey, flag football, and golf. Also, he is on the swim team and the powerlifting team.
