Meaningful Impact

Supported Employment assists people in finding and keeping a job that pays a competitive wage, capitalizes on personal strengths, and provides the support necessary to be successful in the workplace. People served in this program are typically not directly hired by an employer. Instead, they are hired by PossAbilities, whom works in partnership with the business.

PossAbilities has a long-standing partnership with the Mayo Clinic. Our staff train people with disabilities on how to properly label and sort test tubes for multiple laboratories in the healthcare system. Every person takes ownership and pride in their work, knowing that the products they are preparing help the Mayo Clinic keep our community healthy.

In addition, PossAbilities helps coach and support, as needed, people with disabilities working for the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. The workers deliver laboratory slides to different floors throughout the department. Those working in the department make 150 trips daily shuttling patient slides throughout the building. It is estimated to be one million patient slides annually.
