Skill Building Classes

PossAbilities offers opportunities for youth and adults who identify as having disabilities to learn a variety of life skills through short interactive classes. Each session is offered at a pace that is comfortable for all abilities. There is no age limit.

PossAbilities does not provide support staff for these classes. If a support person is needed, there is NO charge for that support person. Also, PossAbilities does not provide transportation for these classes.

All the classes are located at PossAbilities, 1808 3rd Ave SE, Rochester.

The Art of Theater

Skilled actress and director Amanda Leyawiin is partnering with PossAbilities for a fun night of improv and learning theatrical skills.

Tips for Building a Resume

PossAbilities is partnering with Rochester Community and Technical College Adjunct Instructor, Cindy Seabright, to help you create a resume. Cindy will walk us through how to set up a resume, the parts of a resume, and what to include on a resume. We will also look at different document templates and how to check and change the settings.

Feel free to bring a tablet or laptop if you desire to explore on your own.

Basic Job Interview Skills

PossAbilities is welcoming several human resources professionals to provide tips when it comes to interviewing for jobs. Some of the topics we will cover include the following: what to expect in a job interview, how to handle interview questions, and professional attire.  In addition, mock interview opportunities will be provided.

Origami for Beginners

This class is for anyone interested in learning the art of folding paper, also known as Origami. Jane Burke, a PossAbilities staff member, will walk us through step-by-step how to make an Origami crane. We will go at a pace that everyone in the room is comfortable with, so everyone can take home one or many Origami creations!

Build your own Fairy Garden
