October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and as part of that, the 22nd annual “Possabilities” award banquet kicked off Wednesday.
PossAbilities held its annual award ceremony and banquet Wednesday for program participants with special needs, celebrating their accomplishments in the workforce.

A “staffing crisis” is overwhelming Minnesota organizations that work with the disabled, and they are looking to the state legislature for help with wage increases.
It’s being described as a “staffing crisis” by local organizations that provide Home & Community-Based Services (HCBS) for individuals with disabilities.
Right now there are 87-thousand unfilled direct care positions for people with disabilities in Minnesota, and the staffing shortage is being felt in Rochester.
Day service and residential providers for people with disabilities are saying there’s a “staffing crisis” being felt across the state, including in southeast Minnesota.
