The programs offered will be inclusive. Our program is designed for youth who have disabilities, but the activities that your child chooses to be involved in, will be in coordination with programs that include youth who do not have disabilities. What a great experience! Our program is designed with your child in mind. We will be offering various programs that your child can sign up for, through us, and will be able to do the types of things that they enjoy most!  We will be providing staff support, depending on the level of support your child needs to be involved in these programs. If these programs do not fit the needs of your child, there are many other options. We are a very flexible program and willing to work with you and your child!

Listed below are the opportunities that PossAbilities Summer Youth Recreation Program has to offer.  The list is broken into two different sections for easier reading; AGES 7 AND UP and AGES 2 - 6.

Keep in mind:  Since we are providing our own staff at these activities, some of these age groups and grade levels can be adjusted, if you think the activity would be a good fit for your child.  Also, remember even if the activity is only for half the day, we will provide transportation back to the Y and your child can join up with the group for activities until his or her pick-up time.

SIBLING ADVENTURE DAYS

Every year I sit down with a family to help plan their child’s summer schedule through PossAbilities and there always seems to be a brother or sister without a disability that hears about the activities that their sibling gets to participate in and they want to come along .. WELL, this year they will have the opportunity to attend an Adventure Day with their sibling that has a disability.  We will be offering 5 Sibling Adventure Days on Wednesdays from 9:00-4:00.  The cost of each sibling without a disability will be $25 per day.  Payment is due at registration time (all activity/field trip fees covered by PossAbilities).  The sibling without a disability must be 5 years or older and the staffing ratio for kids without disabilities will be 1 staff to 5 kids.  Below is the schedule of main activities that will take place on each day, but when we meet to do summer scheduling I can provide you with a full activity schedule for the day.  PossAbilities will provide a snack, but each child must bring a cold lunch.
